O empate entre Corinthians e Santos não alivia as equipes para escapar do rebaixamento, já que permanecem nas 14ª e 16ª colocação respectivamente, e ainda faltam oito rodadas para concretizar a permanência na Série A. Na quarta-feira (1), Santos enfrenta um jogo complicado no Estádio Mané Garrincha contra o Flamengo, que está na 5ª colocação com 50 pontos e busca assegurar sua vaga na Libertadores.
A sequência do Santos para evitar o primeiro rebaixamento de sua história também será um desafio, pois está repleta de times da parte de cima da tabela, que lutam por vaga nas copas Libertadores e Sul-Americana, como Cuiabá (10º) na Vila Belmiro, confronto direto contra o Goiás (17ª) fora de casa, São Paulo (11º) em casa, Botafogo (1º) no Estádio Nilton Santos, Fluminense (8º) em casa, Athlético-PR (8º) na Arena da Baixada e a última rodada contra o Fortaleza (9º) na Vila Belmiro.
