Após quase dois anos, a Netflix anunciou na quarta-feira (17) que a quarta temporada de “Sex Education” chegará à plataforma ainda este ano. A data exata de quando a série chegará as telinhas ainda não foi anunciada, mas será para o segundo semestre de 2023.

A série conta a história de adolescentes britânicos que estudam no colégio de Moordale e enfrentam questões sobre sua sexualidade, que por serem muito jovens e com pouca informação, buscam ajuda de um companheiro de classe que tem uma mãe terapeuta, que de quebra ganha um dinheiro.
A quarta temporada já tem garantido em seu elenco Asa Butterfield, interprete de Otis Milburn, o personagem principal que faz a “clínica” que ajuda os adolescentes confusos, Ncuti Gatwa que vive o papel de Eric Effiong, melhor amigo de Otis, que sofria bullying, por ser gay e acaba descobrindo que o seu bully na real escondia uma atração pelo jovem a quem perturbava, e contará também com Emma Mackey para o papel de Maeve Wiley, uma jovem brilhante que vê a oportunidade de ganhar uma grana ao incentiva Otis a começar com a “clínica”.

Mas para a tristeza de alguns fãs, essa será a última temporada de Ncuti Gatwa e Emma Mackey na série. Ambos deixarão a série por não terem mais a idade compatível com a de seus personagens. Ncuti Gatwa será o décimo quinto Doctor Who e isso também pode ter pesado para a saída do ator.
A série terá como sinopse, traduzida pelo site do Omelete: “Após o fechamento da escola Moordale, Otis e Eric agora encaram uma nova etapa: seu primeiro dia na escola Cavendish. Otis está nervoso para começar sua nova clínica e Eric reza para que eles não sejam perdedores novamente. Mas Cavendish é um choque cultural para os estudantes de Moordale. Eles achavam que eles eram progressistas, mas este colégio está em outro nível. Existe yoga diário no jardim comunal, uma vibe de sustentabilidade e um grupo de estudantes que é popular por ser… legal? Viv fica desequilibrada pelo método não-competitivo e guiado pelos alunos e Jackson ainda luta para superar Cal. Aimee tenta algo novo em uma aula de artes e Adam tenta entender se uma educação tradicional é certa para ele. Nos Estados Unidos, Maeve vive seus sonhos na prestigiosa Universidade Wallace, tendo como tutor o cultuado autor Thomas Molloy. Otis ainda sofre por ela enquanto se ajusta à realidade de não ser o único filho da casa, nem o único terapeuta no campus”.
O primeiro episódio de “Sex Education” foi lançado em janeiro de 2019, no Reino Unido.
