CBB faz evento em homenagem ao bicampeonato mundial de 1963

A Confederação Brasileira de Basquete, realizou na quinta-feira (25), um evento em comemoração aos 60 anos do bicampeonato Mundial da Seleção Masculina de Basquete. O evento contou com a presença de nove atletas e o ex-jogador Wlamir Marques, de 85 anos de idade, foi eleito ao Hall da Fama.

60 anos atrás, no Rio de Janeiro, o bicampeonato foi conquistado pelos jogadores Amaury, Ubiratan, Wlamir,  Mosquito, Paulista, Rosa Branca, Jatyr, Menon, Waldemar, Fritz, Sucar, Mirshawka, e o pelo treinador Kanela. A vitória sobre os Estados Unidos fez esses nomes virarem lendas do basquete brasileiro.

A conquista do bicampeonato passou pelos seguintes jogos em 63 até chegar a grande vitória.

O homenageado ao Hall da Fama disse: “Não é fácil chegar aqui. Já imaginaram o que todo mundo passou para estar aqui?”. Wlamir citou o tempo de treinamento, a exigência ao máximo do treinador. “Recebo esse hall da fama 50 anos depois de ter saído de quadra, fui eleito, com 85 anos. Dedico esse prêmio a todos que jogaram ao meu lado. Um orgulho que a gente sente, inesquecível”.

O evento de comemoração foi realizado no Parque do Ibirapuera em São Paulo e teve desde camisas autografadas a fotos antigas e também muitas lembranças boas que foram compartilhadas por tanto tempo entre os homenageados.

Em parceria com a Centauro, a Confederação Brasileira de Basquete organizou uma exposição dos itens históricos e produtos que contam a história do bicampeonato. A taça de 63 também estará em exposição. A exposição estará aberta ao público geral nos dias 26 de maio das 14h às 22h e nos dias 27 e 28 de maio, na Arena Centauro, que também fica no Parque do Ibirapuera. Foi criado um espaço instagrámavel na Arena também.
