O cantor britânico Ed Sheeran aproveitou enquanto agradecia aos seus fãs para anunciar o lançamento do seu sexto trabalho.
O artista utilizou o seu Instagram para fazer o agradecimento pela sua música “Shivers” ter atingido a marca de 1 bilhão de reproduções no Spotify. Com isso, tornou-se a 11ª música do cantor a ultrapassar essa marca. No total, 190 músicas estão no “clube do bilhão” da plataforma. O cantor se tornou o 1º artista a ter 11 músicas com 1 bilhão de streams.
“Shivers”, é o segundo single extraído de “Equals” (2021), seu mais recente álbum. As outras dez faixas que também já ultrapassaram a marca bilionária foram “Bad Habits”, “Beautiful People”, “Castle On The Hill”, “Shape Of You”, “Perfect”, “Galway Girl”, “Happier”, “Photograph” e “Thinking Out Loud”.
No vídeo, o cantor não falou muito sobre detalhes, como uma data de lançamento, por exemplo. Mas revelou que estava ocupado gravando um novo videoclipe para o seu álbum que será lançado no próximo ano.
“Então, ‘Shivers’ acabou de atingir um bilhão de streams no Spotify, o que a torna minha 11ª música como artista e 15ª música como compositor… Vou comemorar gravando um videoclipe para o meu novo álbum, que será lançado no próximo ano”, falou o cantor em vídeo no seu perfil do Instagram.

Este será o seu quinto álbum a solo, após plus em 2011, multiplique em 2014, divide em 2017 e equals, em 2021. Caso mantenha a lógica, tudo indica que este disco deverá se chamar ‘Subtract’, ou seja, subtrair, fazendo a tradução para o português.
Além dos álbuns a solo, o cantor lançou em 2019 um álbum de duetos, chamado “No.6 Collaborations Project”.
O último álbum de Ed Sheeran foi lançado em outubro de 2021 e ficou marcado pelo sucesso de hits como ‘Bad Habits’, ‘Shivers’ e ‘Visiting Hours’.
