Lea Michele é escalada para interpretar protagonista do musical Funny Girl

Após duras críticas depois de sua estreia como Fanny Brice no clássico espetáculo da Broadway “Funny Girl” e de “mudanças na direção da peça”, a atriz Beanie Feldstein deixará o papel de protagonista mais cedo do que previsto e será substituída pela atriz Lea Michele.

Depois de Beanie anunciar no último domingo (10) que sua última apresentação seria no dia 31 de julho, a conta oficial de “Funny Girl” no Instagram anunciou oficialmente a entrada de Lea Michele para o elenco do espetáculo a partir do dia 6 de setembro.

Em uma postagem após o anúncio, Lea Michele escreveu: “Um sonho realizado é um eufemismo. Eu estou tão incrivelmente honrada de fazer parte desse elenco e produção espetacular e retornar ao palco interpretando Fanny Brice na Broadwaay.”

Além de Lea, a atriz Tovah Feldshuh, que já foi indicada ao Tony Awards, também fará parte do elenco a partir do dia 6 de setembro interpretando a Sra. Brice, papel que atualmente é vivido por Jane Lynch, a eterna Sue Sylvester de Glee.

Além de ser um sonho de Lea, interpretar Fanny Brice também era o sonho de sua personagem na série de sucesso “Glee”.

Durante as seis temporadas do show musical, Rachel Berry (Lea Michele) sempre fez questão de deixar claro para seus companheiros sua admiração por Barbra Streisand e que sua meta em sua propria carreira artística era interpretar Fanny Brice na Broadway, assumindo o papel no musical logo após se formar na série.

Em diversos episódios da série, Lea cantou diferentes canções do espetáculo como “My Man”, “I’m The Greatest Star”, o dueto de “You Are a Woman, I Am Man” com Ioan Gruffudd e o clássico “Don’t Rain On My Parede”.

A peça que será o retorno de Lea Michele aos palcos da Broadway também contará com o reencontro da atriz com o diretor Michael Mayer com quem trabalhou junto em “Spring Awakening”.

Atualmente, Lea Michele se prepara para a realização de 6 shows com o espetáculo “Lea Michele: Life In Music” antes de assumir de vez o papel de Fanny Brice.
