Jorge Aragão é diagnosticado com câncer raro

O cantor e compositor Jorge Aragão, de 74 anos, foi diagnosticado com câncer. Segundo informações dadas pela assessoria do artista neste sábado (15), a doença foi detectada após uma matéria de exames.

O tipo de câncer que atinge o sambista é um linfoma não Hodgkin (LNH) e, segundo o INCA (Instituto Nacional do Câncer), trata-se de uma enfermidade que possui origem nas células do sistema linfático e espalha-se de forma desordenada.

Conforme informações do INCA, existem mais de 20 diferentes tipos do LNH e seu principal sintoma é aumento dos gânglios linfáticos, que se revela pelo aparecimento de caroços em regiões do corpo como pescoço, virilha e axilas. Outros sintomas podem envolver tosse, suor noturno, febre, perda de peso e coceiras na pele.

O instituto ainda estima que entre esse ano e o ano de 2025 cerca de 12.040 novos casos da doença sejam diagnosticados no Brasil, sendo 6.420 em homens e 5.620 em mulheres.

Ainda segundo a assessoria, Jorge Aragão iniciará imediatamente o tratamento com o acompanhamento da hematologista Caroline Rebello e afirmou que o compositor de “O show tem que continuar” permanece confiante e contando com o apoio de amigos e fãs.

Jorge Aragão da Cruz, popularmente conhecido como Jorge Aragão, nasceu em Padre Miguel, no Rio de Janeiro, em 1 de março de 1949 e é cantor, compositor, sambista e instrumentista. O carioca também chegou a fazer parte do grupo de pagode “Fundo de Quintal” e até gravou o primeiro LP fazendo parte do corpo da banda, no entanto, logo deixou o conjunto para seguir carreira solo. Em 2016 o cantou recebeu o prêmio “Ordem do Mérito Cultural”.
