Na última sexta-feira(22), o 42º boletim epidemiológico do município do Rio de Janeiro, mostrou que desde o início da pandemia, 4 indicadores da doença chegaram ao índice mais baixo. O número de internações pela doença e mortes, são indicadores que contribui para o cálculo de transmissão pelo vírus em várias regiões da cidade. E todas elas, pela 5º semana seguida, estão no índice mais baixo, na bandeira amarela, que representa nível moderado, empregada pela Secretaria Municipal de Saúde.

Outros índices que permanece em queda na capital são os casos pela doença, o suporte por síndrome gripal e síndrome respiratória aguda grave na redes de emergência e urgência.
Há 4 semanas, a quantidade de novos casos de internações pela doença no SUS (Sistema Único de Saúde) vem diminuindo e os casos de mortes pela doença também está em queda, há 5 semanas, exceto nas semanas epidemiológicas 37(do dia 12 a 18 de setembro) e 38(do dia 19 a 25 de setembro) que obteve estabilidade.

De acordo com Daniel Soranz, Secretário Municipal de Saúde, há mais de 2 meses, a fila por leitos de UTI (Unidade de Terapia Intensiva) está zerada. Assim como a taxa de testes positivos para a doença diante do total de testes realizados, que chegou ao número mais baixo, 4%, desde o início da pandemia da COVID-19.
Nas redes sociais a prefeitura do Rio comemorou os baixos índices em relação à doença e deu a notícia sobre a antecipação da segunda dose da Pfizer para as pessoas a partir dos 30 anos:
