A heroína Batgirl é interpretada pela atriz e cantora Leslie Grace, e seu filme solo tem estreia prevista ainda para 2022 na HBO Max. É a primeira produção solo da personagem, ou seja, primeiro longa de heróis da DC.
Leslie publicou em seu instagram o traje da heroína com a seguinte legenda: “Eu uso as expectativas deles contra eles. Essa será a fraqueza deles, não a minha. Deixem que eles me subestimem… E, quando baixarem a guarda, e aumentarem o orgulho, me deixem chutar as bundas deles”, legenda tirada do arco dos quadrinhos Batgirl, do ano de 2003, escrito por Scott Beatty e Chuck Dixon, com artes de Marcos Martin e Álvaro Lopez.

A nova heroína da DC já foi vista em outras produções cinematográficas tendo estreado como atriz no musical em um Bairro de Nova York, ano ano de 2021, além de ter sido indicada três vezes ao Grammy Latino por sua carreira de cantora e compositora.
O novo filme da DC será dirigido por Adil El Arbi e Bilall Fallah, de “Bad Boys Para Sempre” 2020, tendo Christina Hodson como roteirista de Aves de Rapina (Arlequina e sua Emancipação Fantabulosa). O elenco e composto por J.K Simmons (Comissário Gordon), Michael Katon (Batman) e Brendan Fraser (Garfield Lynnys/ Vagalume).
Apesar de sua estreia solo como protagonista do filme, Barbara Gordon já foi representada em outras produções live-action do universo de Homem Morcego. No ano de 1997, a atriz Alicia Silverstone interpretou a Batgirl em Batman e Robin, Hanna Gunn aparece rapidamente como a heroína em “O Cavaleiro das Trevas” de 2008.
Na TV, Yvonne Craig interpretou a bibliotecária na serie do Batman (1966-1968), sendo que Dina Meyer já estava em cadeiras de rodas como Oráculo em Aves de Rapina (2002-2003). Recentemente, a personagem Barbara aparece na ultima temporada de Gothan (20014-2019), interpretada por Jeté Laurence no papel, e na terceira temporada de Titãs, interpretada por Savannah Welch.
