O meia Paulo Henrique Ganso está de contrato novo com o tricolor carioca. Nesse domingo, 4 de dezembro de 2022, o clube anunciou oficialmente por meio de suas redes sociais a permanência do jogador até 2025.
O contrato anterior, era válido até o fim de 2023, e as partes já conversavam para a renovação por mais 2 anos. Pequenos detalhes impediam a renovação, porém, o clube e o jogador se resolveram e assim oficializaram a permanência.

Aos 33 anos, Ganso foi um dos destaques da temporada de 2022 pelo Fluminense, que conquistou o Campeonato Carioca e terminou o campeonato brasileiro na terceira colocação, assegurando a vaga direta para a fase de grupos da Copa Libertadores de 2023.
Com 9 assistências e 9 gols em 57 jogos, números que se aproximam de suas temporadas pelo Santos, quando foi campeão da Libertadores e da temporada no São Paulo, Ganso ficou em segundo lugar em assistências pelo Fluminense, ficando atrás apenas de Jhon Arias, o craque do meio-campo tricolor.
Ganso chegou no Rio para defender o Fluminense em 2019, e viveu altos e baixos. Após um bom início, perdeu espaço em 2020 para Nenê, ficando duas temporadas na reserva. Mas em 2022 recuperou seu melhor futebol com o retorno de Fernando Diniz ao clube e hoje é peça principal no elenco tricolor.
Além de ser imprescindível ao elenco, Ganso é um dos jogadores que caíram no agrado da torcida do Fluminense. Com 160 jogos, atrás apenas do zagueiro Nino com 189 jogos, Ganso é um dos jogadores com mais participação em jogos na temporada de 2022.

A renovação de Paulo Henrique Ganso até 2025, está diretamente ligada com a renovação do técnico Fernando Diniz. Para o técnico continuar, a diretoria prometeu a renovação de peças importantes e também disse que não negociará nenhum titular do time pelo menos até o fim da Libertadores de 2023.
